Rehob/Beth Rehob

    Rehob is the name of more than one place in the Bible.  The name means "street" or "broad place".  The Rehob connected with the borders of The Promised Land was observed by the spies sent by Joshua into the Promised Land and was near the Entrance of Hamath.  There is much debate over which Rehob the spies visited in their travels.  Two cities called Rehob were both in the land allocated to the tribe of Asher, west and northwest of the Sea of Galilee.  "Beth Rehob" (house of Rehob) is an area north of the Sea of Galilee, in the valley between the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountains.  This valley on the way to the entrance of Hamath, so it seems to best fit the Biblical description of this location.
